2 Pilots are dead after Jet and Fire Truck Collide at LaGuardia Airport

The pilots of an Air Canada Express plane were killed and dozen of passengers and crew members were hospitalized, officials said. LaGuarida Airport is closed until at least 2PM with a High Probability of an extendance to allow for a through inverstation and hundreds of flights were canceled. A runway collision at New York’s LaGuardia Airport late Sunday killed Two People, injuired dozens more and shut down one of the busiests domestic airports in the region. The crash occurred when an Air Canada Regional Jet collided with a Port Authority Fire Truck while landing Sunday Night killing the plane’s pilots. Investigators were working bto determine the cause of the accident Monday Morning. More than 500 Flights to and from the airport has been cancelled as of Monday Morning affecting Tens of Thousands of Travelers.

The truck recieves permission to cross a runway before an air traffic controller tells it several times to Stop. Stop Truck 1 Stop! The Controller Says. After about 2 Minutes another voice says LaGuardia Airport is closed at this time. The port AUthority fire truck was repsonding to another aircraft whose pilot after multiple attempts at take off had requested help. That aircraft was operated by United Airlines and had reported an issue with odor. The two officers who were in the fire truck that collided with the plane were in stable condition in the hospital. 41 passangers and crew members were taken to the hospital. 32 have been releasted from the hospital as the others were seriously injuried.
